Hi Steve, Zeke and All,
 
                                        Not sure why everyone still uses 
circular pots when slide/linear ones are much easier to deal with, just a 
couple springs, stops and coupling it to the throttle cable, etc and save the 
money, hassles of the PB-6.  Always buy several controls/pots so if they get 
dirty, etc just pop another in.  Mount them upsidedown  and not only won't it 
collect outside dust,  any carbon  dust from the resistor pad will drop out 
making a more reliable unit.
 
                                      If you are going to replace the pot in 
the PB-6 buying several high quality ones from say Allen/Bradley from Digi-Key, 
etc  won't cost much more that the low quality stock one and worth it.  Make 
sure it has no/flat or a good taper for our use. Audio tapers are  too much in 
most cases.
