I have an opportunity to get in on an 18 Wheeler build. The problem is,
the project manager has already bought the motor. A 2600lbs Monster, a

field , 300V, 6 amps. We spun the motor over with a 12V battery, and it
does run. Any ideas on what I can do for a contoller for this? Regen if
possible. Is there some way we could use something like the Soliton and a
small controller for the Field?

2600 lbs? My gawd; railroad locomotives don't have motors that big.

I rather doubt that any normal controller will be able to deliver that kind of power for any length of time. They are all designed on the assumption that their peak power only needs to be available for a matter of seconds.

I'd contact the motor manufacturer, for advice on what controller this motor was designed for. Otherwise, you're headed for some very expensive stumbling around in the dark.
