I think that many people have no idea what the 0 to 60 mph time is for their car, and think it is much better than it actually is because their perception of that time for the "typical" sedan is determined by advertising, which is biased toward cars with faster times. The 0 to 60 mph time for average or slower cars is usually not given in advertising since it is not a good selling point.
