Other than exciting acceleration, what is the purpose of a 0 to 60
figure?
-merging into traffic, avoiding an accident by getting out where you
are, etc.

There does not seem to be a standard length for highway on-ramps in the
SF Bay area, as some are too short and some are just long enough.

Also, I am pretty laid back, but the nut near me isn't. There have been
several times in my life it was safer to get out of a situation by
changing to the faster lane. Some of those situations were caused by
drivers' extreme driving machines ("Get out of my way!").

Even for a right lane driver going 55mph, and pacing my speed for
merging traffic, there always seems to be a need for a 0-60mph ability.
Now if we could get the merging traffic to use their ability, and the
performance drivers to stay in the left lanes, life would be better.
