Sounds like there could be an opportunity to lease battery packs, to lower the entry point below that $10k level, providing some addnl cash flow? A pack with integral mgmt would provide long service life. Arrange the eventual 2nd-life market.

After 23 years of selling conversion kits we have seen a dramatic decrease in sales of kits. Still the odd "father / kid" project and a few performance builds as well as a strong export market to countries where OEM EV's just are not available or are too expensive. I actually tell people who call and want to convert a car to commute to work that they should look at the OEM EV's. They are not looking for a project, they just want an EV so OEM is best for them. I think anyone who has to pay for the labor to convert their car are going to be much better off with a factory EV. If they cant build it, then they will not be able to keep it running in the long term. I don't believe conversions are dead or we would not have just done a run of 100 adapters of our most popular models, we just are not going to see the volumes we saw in 06 - 08. We have found a good market in prototyping battery powered vehicles and equipment for other companies who want to get into the market but lack the knowledge.
