I use about 0.8Ah / mile with nominal 48V pack. Roughly 40W/h/mile
averaging 24mph for the 25 mile commute (country 2 lane 80% of distance
then urban for the remainder). I charge up at home and at work. I guess I
am buying about a kW each time for $0.12. The charger is 60VDC, and shuts
off at 56VDC. 56VDC/16 cells = 3.5V per cell. There is a BMS of uncertain
function that is supposed to balance the cells. I only have about 1000
miles on it.
I just did a teardown and repackage of the cell pack, and it was made of
18650 cells - 96 of them in banks of 6 in parallel, 20Ah in a bank.
Interestingly, I can buy this pack with BMS, charger, air shipping for
$445. $22.25 / 48V Amp hour. $445 / 96 = $.63 / cell (ignoring the
extras). Hard to ignore shipping from China though - it is usually $200 or
so. I guess the pack is sort of only $250.
Care to name your source?
I didn't find you in EVAlbum.
Is this a two wheeler?
Correct me if I misinterpreted but I make your pack to be about 1kwh?
The cost seems to be about the same as for prismatic LFP cells but you
got the BMS, charger and shipping included? Sounds like a great way to
go it it works. And lasts.
