Hi Cliff, Thanks for the info, it is very beneficial.
The info about the current ICE engine has come from the manufacturer so i would assume it was rated at the flywheel but I do not know for sure. I am definitely going to consider multiple motors for this design, it seems the be the cheaper option as high torque racing motors i have found cost >$20,000. Torque vectoring is another thing I want to look at, the car will need some form of traction control and if a controller can be found in good price with torque vectoring then that would a bonus. I did also see that ETH Zurich won the event last year with their electric car, quite the accomplishment. However, looking at their website, it says that they spent 3 years designing it and they designed and built 4 hub motors for the wheels. Some serious team work going on there! Do you know of any good websites for purchasing motors? Many thanks, Michael -- View this message in context: http://electric-vehicle-discussion-list.413529.n4.nabble.com/Electric-Drive-for-Formula-Student-Vehicle-tp4666172p4666203.html Sent from the Electric Vehicle Discussion List mailing list archive at Nabble.com. _______________________________________________ UNSUBSCRIBE: http://www.evdl.org/help/index.html#usub http://lists.evdl.org/listinfo.cgi/ev-evdl.org For EV drag racing discussion, please use NEDRA (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NEDRA)
