I'd say, you're lucky to have charging stations to use. I've been driving my EVs for a couple years, and have used a public charging station twice - my wife: once. I've plugged in using a standard 120v outlet at the grocery store, parking structure, friend's house ... way more times.
But, to comment directly on your response: I don't think it helped to have Chris Richard wrote > really, really ripped into the guy. I think you could have simply stated the standard protocol, as you noted, used it as a teaching moment, got your plug back and moved on. I would also say, if I'm ever at a public charging in risk of being disconnected, I would write a note or have a timer placard to indicate how long I've been plugged in and when it would be ok to allow someone else to take the plug out. Then another EV driver would have some other way (instead of checking plug-share - which might not be obvious/easy) to know when it would be available. After all, the plug is no more yours than his. ----- Dan Gallagher http://www.evalbum.com/3854 -- View this message in context: http://electric-vehicle-discussion-list.413529.n4.nabble.com/Involuntary-disconnect-tp4666319p4666376.html Sent from the Electric Vehicle Discussion List mailing list archive at Nabble.com. _______________________________________________ UNSUBSCRIBE: http://www.evdl.org/help/index.html#usub http://lists.evdl.org/listinfo.cgi/ev-evdl.org For EV drag racing discussion, please use NEDRA (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NEDRA)
