Why not just use a BMS? With the $$$ you are spending on Li batteries, it seems wise
That's my take on it. If I'm spending a lot of something, it only makes sense to take care of it.
The quality is low, the warranty is weak, and there are lots of unknowns about the best way to treat lithium cells. So it seems penny wise and pound foolish to just throw them in and drive.
Consider this: You are likely to use your batteries until they fail. If you don't monitor or measure anything, how will you *know* when one of them is failing? Will you just keep driving until it quits? If so, you should understand that the failure modes of lithium cells include serious FIRES!
