The issue with the PFC charger was corrected shortly after I complained.
(I complained bit too loudly and publicly in retrospect. I apologized
then and I do again now.)
You can now set the PFC charger to "latch" the end-of-charge timer and
not reset.
It is still a very good idea to set a maximum time limit on any charger.
A wind-up timer on the 240 vac charger supply circuit is not terribly
expensive and is a wise investment.
