When electric vehicles start to comprise a signifiant percentage of the 
passenger fleet, we're going to need a lot more than just charging points in 
every street light.

I predict we'll see parking meters everywhere morph into charging stations, and 
many more such meters go up. I also imagine there'll be much wringing of hands 
over figuring out what to charge for charging as opposed to parking...meter 
owners aren't going to want to have a car taking up that space and only pay for 
parking when they could instead charge a premium for somebody charging, but car 
owners might not have much choice in where to park.
