As a dog and cat cohabitant, I really like this idea, but I have to wonder -- how necessary is it? Are Teslas so attractive to thieves that you can't leave the windows partly open while you're in the store or wherever? A dog is one of the best theft deterrents I know of. Most bad guys aren't that keen to find out just how sharp those teeth are, and will look for easier targets.
