Even farther back than your US Electricar trucks, Commuter Vehicles was selling their EV postal van in 1980. Jet Industries was selling EV pickups and vans in the 1970's. Smith's was selling their electric milk floats and garbage trucks since the 1960's.
Going way back, US President William McKinley was shot in 1901. He was taken to the hospital in an EV ambulance, which was basically a truck! :-)
