IIRC, that's how most of the plug-in Prius hacks (Engineer and so on) worked. It'll be interesting to see whether it will work for real EVs. I can see some of them choking on it if the computer looks at road speed and says "Huh? What's this? Regen when I'm not moving? Something's wrong!
