Such a shame, every other aspect of the Leaf was so well done. So many Leafs have been scrapped now that are otherwise good cars just having useless packs.
When I bought my 2011 Leaf, I expected the battery to last at least five years and then find an after market battery market thriving. I was disappointed to find that the Leaf had a two year (or less) battery. Near ten years out, I'm astonished that there is still no after market battery source.
I rid myself of my Leaf SOLELY because of the crappy battery. OTOH, it pushed me into an early Tesla which was certainly a good move.
It's sad that there isn't any similar effort put into Leafs to re-use the components or put new packs in. There are a lot of them out there!
That is certainly the case. Can anyone explain why no one is supplying ~50kwh batteries to "drop in" old Leafs at a cost of $5k-$7k?
