Greenlife boasts that you can halve the AH of your battery and still function. I checked the Yellow Top replacement for my Leaf and it is 450CCA orĀ 41ah. The 20ah Greenlife is similar price. Seems it might be a good replacement. However the posts are different in the pictures.
Hi Lawrence,
As others have noted, what matters in an EV is amphour capacity; not CCA
(Cold Cranking Amps) and similar ICE-related specs.
Most lithium battery replacements for lead-acids are sold to ICE owners.
For an ICE, the most challenging requirement is that it can supply a
very high peak current to start the engine. So, lithium battery sellers
say things like "*equivalent* to a 100ah starting battery", when in
fact, the lithium has a small fraction of the amphour capacity.
Even a Yellow Top is the wrong battery for the job in your Leaf. It too
is optimized for engine starting. But it does have enough amphour
capacity to also support the large number of "always-on" computer loads
in modern cars that will run down the batter in a few weeks if you don't
have a high enough amphour capacity.
