It makes no sense to pursue Hydrogen simply due to its HUGE inefficiency.
The only thing that drives Hydrogen is GREED.

The greedy goal is to make drivers dependent on something they must
buy from BIG-HYDROGEN (was BIG OIL).   - Bob
