Going off-grid:

Buy a used Leaf as a second EV.  Charge each one on
alternating days.  So you have a huge battery charging
everyday from solar, and you have an EV for goiong to work
AND you get THREE times the battery for the same cost
as a powerwall!. (and a spare car)
