I find the list useful - especially since many of the people using it 
are the experienced hobbyists.
Part of the decline is usage is that there are multiple "DIY Electric 
Vehicle" type groups on almost every site where you can remotely have a 
discussion.
I've noticed that a lot of people on those - don't even consider looking 
at any of the others.  sigh...
