I have never heard of anyone suggesting that private conversations be
monitored to prevent racism. The idea that protecting people from
persecution and abuse, from discrimination in public institutions and in
the labor market is somehow a molestation of your right to badmouth whoever
you like, anywhere you like, to incite violence, etc, is not defensible.
Should hate groups really be afforded the same legal status as the Girl
Scouts just because you think that it's boring for people not to be
harassed by assholes whenever they want? If you think antiracists have no
right to impose their values on you, then how can you claim to impose your
anti-antiracist values on them?
