Liz, not everyone shares your values in this old world. You fear for the
innocent, which is good, but lets face it, most of those convicted appear to be
guilty. The problem is the western legal world is that there is no real control
over prosecutors and judges who perform malpractice. In the Islamic world, it
doesn't appear to be a search for truth, but the employment of fatwas, and the
use of sharia law in all muslim lands, and hadood laws in Pakistan. Because if
the laws are wrong then muhammed is wrong, if muhammed is wrong, then archangel
gabriel is wrong, if gabriel is wrong then allah is wrong, if allah is wrong
then maybe he doesn't exist as the arab nation describes, if this is true, no
afterlife. This, for them, is too much to sacrifice.

An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.

Well, apart from the last person, who still has one eye and becomes King.

However, seriously, you think the death sentence is appropriate for ANY crime?
There is always some doubt. If you kill someone and find out they were
innocent, you can't undo it. David Bain was let out of prison after 13 years
because the convinction for murder was unsound.

I don't form views on God's wisdom.

That's very convenient for you. The only view you've needed to form is that it
IS God's wisdom, a view for which the main evidence is that lots of people told
you it.

I believe that the arabic Quran has been revealed for our guidance through
divine decree because I've studied it and am convinced that this is not a human
work!

I must admit I also find it hard to believe that human beings would write
something which says that people should be stoned to death

No where is stoning to death prescribed in the Quran as a form of punishment
for any crime. It is mentioned as one of the threats made by the non-believers
to many of the prophets and the believers, as a punishment for their faith in
one God.

The only crime for which death sentence is prescribed in the Quran is murder.
