Watson's brain is made of matter and it occupies time and space just as
your brain does, the only difference is that Watson's brain is confined
inside a metal box and your brain is confined inside a bone box.

I very much doubt that is true but assuming for the sake of argument that
it is I have a question for you: Given that Watson could easily beat you on
any test on Charlemagne just what is "better" about your better idea?

I think that too. More generally I think there is no evidence whatsoever
that anybody or anything except John K Clark has feelings. But despite this
lack of evidence I continue to believe that some other things do have
feelings, at least when they're behaving intelligently, because I could not
function if I believed I was the only conscious thing in the universe.
