YEP, this is why I feel people should work actively, on human transcendence,
which would do a couple of good things for our species, even if its just a
solid theoretical path.

The Amadhis are generally reviled by members of the Umah (Islamic Community)
both Sunni and Shia, because they're about the only, organized, sect of Islam
that is easy going. Even the Sufis, who attempt a mystical connection with God
are not tolerant, in the conventional sense of the word. Their leaders have
endorsed violent jihad, against the Kufar, (non-Muslims, as well as most of the
other sects of Islam.

Now the question I would ask is, does any action by the Kufar justify a jihad
against them? Historically, yes, with the Crusades of the middle ages (700
years ago), and the British and French and Italian conquests of the 19th and
20th centuries, in North Africa and the Near East.

Other wars have been started, historically, by the Caliphs aggression into
Europe, into India, into Africa, where Islam spreads power by the sword, and
imposes sharia on the conquered. This is true even today, and the behavior of
ISIS is historically, identical to other Islamist empire building. What can we
plebeians do about this? Nothing. We have no power, no influence and the elites
are tuned into their own self interests. Call it human nature.

To those to deride religion, I would just say to you, that its not how you play
the game, its if you win or lose. Losing in this case, would likely mean a
dictatorship of the most determined survivors of a big conflict. The survivors
might be the Hindus of India, or the Chinese, but I doubt if its the Russians,
or Latin America. It won't be the US, or Europe, so perhaps Australia?

To die for Allah is slay for Allah. The reward for the mujahedeen is enormous,
for to sacrifice ones self, and the opponent of God, is to granted immediate
entry into paradise (Janah) and its rewards are not unsubstantial. One way to
change the Umah's mind (if such is even possible) would be to make widespread,
Clement Vidal's publications, especially, The Beginning and the End, The
Meaning of Life in a Cosmological Perspective. Part of the book details with
afterlife concepts in a rational sense, as well as much, more. Vidal is a
colleague of Bruno Marchal at Free University, Brussels. Vidal's influence may
induce those looking for a heavenly, rewards, for head chopping unbelievers, a
good think.

It would also alter our own perspective as well. Make the world a bit more
peaceful, and provide some reassurance for all.

Honk! If you all agree ;-)

ASLAN: Stoning and mutilation and those barbaric practices

But to say Muslim countries, as though Pakistan and Turkey
are the same, as though Indonesia and Saudi Arabia are the same, as though
somehow what is happening in the most extreme forms of these repressive
countries, these autocratic countries, is representative of what's happening in
every other Muslim country, is, frankly -- and I use this word seriously --
stupid. So let's stop doing that.

Turkey is different precisely because Kemal Ataturk made separation of church
and state a foundation of Turkey - something directly contrary to the Quran
which mandates theocracy. So it is not as though the differences are between
Pakistan and Turkey or Saudi Arabia and Indonesia are unrelated to religion.
The difference are that the more barabaric nations are the more religious.
