I must admit I am a little suspicious of a theory that requires nature to exhibit infinite precision.

Note that a theory which would requires nature to exploit infinite precision would entail the falsity of computationalism. The apparent existence of evolution is a strong evidence in favor of computationalism, alias digital mechanism. The precisions added by molecular genetics gave even more evidences. We might say that the evolution of life is an evidence that nature exploits computationalism since the start. Of course it is not a proof (in which theory?) that computationalism is true.
