Manufacturers will be driven to approximate the 9:5 aspect ratio of the movie screen, because for some reason, the number one use of a laptop is as an expensive television set. Probably Pirate Bay has something to do with this. Unfortunately, the rest of us who'd prefer a much more square 5:4 aspect ratio will just have to put up.
