The answer is obvious, a non-conscious system would be stupid and a conscious system would not be. If Darwin was correct that MUST be true otherwise there would be no reason for random mutation and natural selection to have produced a conscious being, and we all know with absolute certainty that it did at least once and probably many billions of times.
