That's weird. Why not taken an argument seriously? Then all what Gödel
dead is a proof of the validity of St-Anselm argument in the modal
logic S5, assuming some formalization of God in S5.
Gödel did take St-Anselmus seriously, but never behave like if we
should take his argument seriously, I think he did not, without
eleiminating the idea that better attempts might make more sense.
Open problem: does qS4grz proves the existence of the Gödel-St-
Anselmus God?
Did I miss something about that specious piece of sophistry? Other
than that I'm in 87.5% agreement with him...
In a sense I agree, Gödel did just use the Aristotelian-Leibnizian S5,
and would have been more inspired to take the modal logics imposed to
all creature wanting to be self-referentially correct (in the absolute
and relatives ways according to the intensions (with a "s", it is not
a typo!))
With S5 all worlds are accessible from each others, but once you are a
universal numbers relative to universal numbers, things get quite
relative accessibilities.
By computer science, a lot of that sophistry became interesting
question about the relation between a machine and a notion of truth
capable of satisfying the machine beliefs/knowlede/observation/
sensations.
Gödel missed Everett, and its computationalist prolongation into
arithmetic/computer-land.
