Up and Dn are realizable physical states for a spin 1/2 particle. Up - Dn, and Up + Dn are also realizable, that is physical states of a spin 1/2 particle, according to the QM formaliam. We can't measure the latter two states because, presumably, we can't imagine what they are. Not being able to imagine them, means we can't build an instrument to measure them. If we can't imagine such states and can't measure them, why does QM insist they exist? TIA, AG
