You mean a contradiction is not provable  within that theory.  As you said above "false" is a relation to some separately known reality.


Of course, I can only hope that you believe that elementary arithmetic is consistent, and true with respect to the standard model. But that is always the case when we discuss with other people. We hope they don’t believe in 2+2=5.

It is disingenuous to imply that whomever believes "2+2=4" is thereby committed to believing arithmetic is consistent or even that it is well defined.
