The very next day I changed my party affiliation from Republican to Democrat, and since 2011 the party has become even stupider, much much stupider. The conventional 1-D left-right distinction is insufficient to describe one's political beliefs, you need 2 more axis, libertarian-totalitarian, and smart-stupid.
