You know, I have never blamed the Ukraine invasion on Trump or Joey. The
Europeans, yeah, because they insisted on Russian gas. I do think that Putin
and friends say Biden as a pushover, whereas the other fellow could go nuts. I
believe the blame is entirely on the Russians. Because, those aren't Thai
troops in the Ukraine. Plus, Putin to land grab during Obama, so I am forced to
conclude there is a real dynamic here, that you ignore at national peril.
My point on Policy, not Personality, still holds. My own view and screw what I
think because I am but a serf, is I would have in 2012 gone for either Rubio as
prez in order to steel the Latino vote out from under you, and say, white-aryan
Romeny as a pampered, patrician, in any case. Romney is also a pushover.

In any case the eyes on the prize is what we spend on R&D and in what areas, if
you want a better world, because politics, a feature of democratic party
attorneys, seems like an ugly failure to me.

Of course I would not object! If I sincerely believe that the world will become
a better place if the government spends money on project X even if you consider
the fact that all projects have a cost then I would do everything within my
power (which isn't much) to make project X happen. But then why the hell do you
call such a benevolent thing a "bribe"? A bribe implies something that is
sinister, underhanded and shameful, this is none of those things, the world
would be a far worse place if such "bribes" did not occur. If you insist on
using that word then you're going to have to invent a new word for the old
meaning of the word "bribe" because the English language needs such a word if
it wishes to describe the world.

> So is this Trumpkin so awful now?

Yes. It would be an accurate use of the word bribe to say that Trump tried to
bribe President Volodymyr Zelenskyy by saying he would send Javelin anti-tank
missiles to Ukraine only if he harms his political opponent by publicly
announcing an investigation of Hunter Biden,  he need not actually conduct an
investigation, he just needs to PUBLICLY announce it. Trump was being sinister,
underhanded and shameful, certainly if Barack Obama had done something like
that you'd be foaming at the mouth with indignation, so the word "bribe" is
perfectly appropriate.
