*Yes obviously. But if you know that something is a brute fact then there
is nothing more to understand about it, so asking "why" it is a brute fact
would be a silly question.  And if it's not a brute fact then to understand
it you need to find its cause, and then you'll want to find the cause of
the cause etc; And then the "why" questions either go on forever or they
don't and if they don't then they must terminate with a brute fact.*
