Yeah, a jabber backend would be pretty cool.  A glib-based asynchronous
implementation would be the best way to go for the easiest integration
with the Evo stuff.

I've never been too keen on the idea of using Jabber as a carrier for
the other IM services; you're giving yourself a single point of failure
in the Jabber server, and I think it would make the interfaces a bit
uglier to try to support it nicely in Evo.
