I had an issue with PSS as well on a couple of cases when I got
switched to a call center in India, but last week I opened a case on a
store crash and got a very knowledgable young lady in north carolina.
Any idea what's up with PSS?  Is this new call center only for people
who don't have an account of some sort, like premiere?  If so how come I
got a call center in north carolina last week?  I worked for an
enterprise managed service provider for 3 years who had a very expensive
premiere account and had nothing but wonderful experiences with PSS the
several hundred times I called in.  Considering the mostly bad
experiences I've had with other software companies so called
premiere/gold/whatever support I held Microsoft in great regard for the
quality of their PSS exchange team and was under the impression that
that was the level of support they offered all of their customers, not
just premiere customers.

Well, called again and they just released another hot fix to reference
problems with the info store hanging on 5.5 systems that have 2003
clients.

I had to tell the Microsoft tech about this hot fix.  Their support is
terrible since it's gone over to India or where ever it is they have it
now.

Store stopped again on yet another server with no mailboxes on it.
Found another article on technet that states 2003 clients using cached
mode and rules may cause the Info store crash.  Article 834466 and
references store.exe version 5.5.2657.89 versus the 5.5.2657.74 which is
what I just installed.  Time to call them one more time.

Stopped the Exchange Info Store and Exchange Event Service, installed
patch
(1 minute) restarted and back up and running.  Painless.  Looks like
there is an un-install on this one as well, just in case.

Do you have Outlook 2003 clients? I think there is an issue with those,

Well we have a problem on two servers now where the Information Store
just
stops for no reason.  Event log only has a 1005 stating a Unexpected
error
0xc0040000 Network problems are preventing connection to the Microsoft
Exchange Computers the Exchange Server Information Store ID.  And 7031
stating the Exchange Info Store terminated unexpectedly

The store.exe version we are running is 5.5.2653.23 and I have a feeling
that we are running into a hotfix issue.  I've already contacted
Microsoft
and they want me to perform a isienteg on the database but since it has
occurred on two systems now I think it is something else.  I have a Dr.
Watson log file and a User Dump file which I have already uploaded to
Microsoft from the first system.

Anyone run into this problem before?  I'm running ScanMail ESE version
and I
also run McAfee on file scanning but exclude all the Exchange
directories
for file level scanning.
