It communicates using MAPI. As much detail as possible would probably
involve reading "Inside MAPI", which is a good book generally, though
out of print and not something the typical administrator needs to master
for day-today operations. Is there something specific you are
researching? You can sometimes pick up a copy of the book on
www.half.com and I believe there's a CD/PDF version available as well. I
have a couple of copies on the bookshelf here... good stuff.

Subject: [Q] How outlook communicates with Exchange 5.5

Hi,

I'm looking for information in as much detail as possible, about how
outlook communicates with the exchange server. I keep finding bits and
pieces here and there, but obviously I'm not searching right. Any help
is
appreciated.

Thanks much!

K

Oh, outlook 2002 if that's of any consequence.
