Ironically, I have found that if the user has the option enabled that puts up a message dialog box when new mail arrives, that "missing new mail" behavior does not occur. The same may also be try if you have audio alerts enabled for new mail.

We use ever prevalent blackberry mobile device here at my organization. Had a question from a user about why email sometimes hits his blackberry before it shows in his inbox. A little searching turned up the fact that frequently, the user has to do something in outlook for mail to be "received". (Its been there, just not visible in outlook) Was wondering if there is some poling interval in outlook (we use 2002 right now) that governs how often outlook checks for new mail, or if there is something else. I realize it could be a networking issue, but wanted to check out all angles. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer. As much detail as possible would probably involve reading "Inside MAPI", which is a good book generally, though out of print and not something the typical administrator needs to master for day-today operations. Is there something specific you are researching? You can sometimes pick up a copy of the book on www.half.com and I believe there's a CD/PDF version available as well. I have a couple of copies on the bookshelf here... good stuff. -----Original Message----- From: Adams, Kevin C. I keep finding bits and pieces here and there, but obviously I'm not searching right. Any help is appreciated. Thanks much! K Oh, outlook 2002 if that's of any consequence. _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Web Interface: http://intm-dl.sparklist.com/cgi-bin/lyris.pl?enter=exchange&text_mode=& lang=english To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe via postal mail, please contact us at: Jupitermedia Corp.
