What is the scenario that you are changing from Exchange 5.5? Yes Is this a migration? Yes, Single server situation, We want the E2K3 to start out as a native mode server. Clean break is desired. When done, the old E5.5 will be re-loaded as a E2K3 test server. A migration between two servers that are connected in the same Exchange org? No, different. No connection and two different domains? Yes, Yes, Old = E5.5 on NT4 Domain, New = E2K3 on W2K3 Domain. The domain name for the e-mail addresses are remaining the same.

No connection and two different domains? In most cases moving mailboxes between two servers that are in the same organisation is very easy. As long as the two servers are both alive, when Outlook connects to the old server it will automatically redirect to the new server. Magic. No utility required. However if it is separate domains then it becomes a lot more complex.
