Using the "managed by" option for a mail-enabled group on a PC running
windows XP (2003), Admin pack (might need to read KB815529) & Exchange
System Manger will give you the option "Manager can update members".
Ticking this box will do the advanced security permissions required.
Works all OK. You'll most probably need to follow kb815529 to get
Windows 2000 Admin pack going.
Cheers,
Phil

The Owner setting for DL is just all show and no go. You need to set
some very special permissions on the DL using ADUC.

Subject: DL Permissions

I am running Exchange 2000 in native mode. I have given a user
permission to manage a dl (Manage By Tab on the DL Properties). Both
the DL and user belong in the same domain. However when the user tries
to modify the membership of the dl, the user receives this message,
"Changes to the distribution membership could not be saved. You do not
have sufficient permission to perform this operation on this object".
Why does this occur? How can I fix this?
