I've had to troubleshoot this type of issue more than I can count. I have found that the document at the following link is really the best place to look. http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/exchange/2003/library/e2k3perf. mspx <http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/exchange/2003/library/e2k3perf .mspx> It can be used with some tweaking on Exchange 5.5 as well, but should apply to 2000 easily. Another thing that I have seen cause this a lot is AV on the desktop that has the "Exchange" snap-in turned on. This really is not necessary and adds an additional load to the servers. Another thing to consider is what was the user do at the time that the problem occurred. I have seen this occurred because of Free/Busy information latency. Over all, the RPC dialog box has been pulled out of the product in future releases and it may be in your best interest to push the policy out that disables it. Hope that this helps, Gerod
