I use trend and the software is good...but I hardly call it the best if
you count their support model. I regularly get emails from my TAM and
their support staff through their PSP customer communication email system
that sends out unreplyable emails (if you reply to them they go to the bit
bucket on Trend's side without telling anyone). In order to reply to an
email that tech support or my TAM sends me I have to copy and paste the
original email into a new one. Love the software...but the support is in
need of some serious help (yes I have told them how I feel many times and
I am a premier customer).

If you are using TrendMicro's engine and patterns on your servers,
desktops, laptops, and for scanning email, what happens if something comes
out that McAfee, Norton, or Sophos have patterns for but Trend does not?
Using different engines\patterns to add different levels of protection to
your infrastructure is generally safer then using just one vendor for
everything (I know from experience as I used to run the mail system for
one of the above named AV vendors and of course we could only run our own
products).

I am a Trend customer today (in addition to 2 other AV vendors) and I can
tell you that there have been a number of times where Trend is not the
first to catch something and McAfee (desktop) has saved our arse. Having
multiple vendors protecting your mail system (at least 2) will go a long
way to preventing that ever annoying virus outbreak that might just be
preventable with a little proactive planning.

My 2 cents.
