Call and demand a refund. Seriously. You're going to need to buy a product that works as an SMTP server to replace a product they claimed had that capability. I can understand if a mail server doesn't support an obscure or relatively new feature, but not being able to send to a host that doesn't have an Mx record? WTF. They need to give you your money back...
