Do you have a firewall between your server and the Internet? -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Matt Plahtinsky Sent: Friday, January 14, 2005 3:05 PM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: SMTP Problems
W2k3 E2k3 one Exchange server setup Started having some weird problems today. I can receive email but can't send external email. No errors in logs. If I telnet port 25 from the exchange server to another SMTP server I connect but as soon as I type the first letter it kicks me out and that's as far as I can get. Any ideas where to start trouble shouting this? The NDR that I get is "#5.0.0 smtp;503 5.0.0 Polite people say HELO first>" Any thoughts appreciated. I Thanks Matt _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Web Interface: http://intm-dl.sparklist.com/read/?forum=exchange To subscribe: http://e-newsletters.internet.com/discussionlists.html/ To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe via postal mail, please contact us at: Jupitermedia Corp.
