I have a user who, when creating a new email or replying to an email, has to wait up to 60 seconds or longer for the new message window to open so she can begin writing her message or reply.
I thought at first it might have been a corrupted .dot file so I deleted the normal.dot and email.dot files but the problem persists. I did a system restore to a time before this happened (at least, as far as we both can tell it is before it happened) and the problem persists. I had this issue myself a while back so I switched from the Word editor to the Outlook default editor and, sure enough, the response was almost immediate leading me to believe there was something wrong with Word. A couple of weeks later I switched back to Word and the problem seemed to have gone away. I suggested this to her but everytime the Outlook editor opens she gets a message that an ActiveX control might make the message not appear normal to other users. She has to click OK to get that box to go away and it appears EVERY blasted time she starts a new message or replies. (there is no checkbox to stop the window from opening everytime or that would solve the problem IMHO) I've looked at COM add-ins and the only ones are Stamps.com and Blackbaud (a fund raising program we use here - I won't even get started on that POS). So I can't remove either of them. I think there's a problem with Word? She has Acrobat 6.0 with all the hotfixes and I'm wondering if maybe the Acrobat add-in to Word is creating the problem although I have Acrobat as well and I don't have her problem. Any thoughts on why this might be happening? Thanks for help you all can give.
