When using the rich text option for internal company use, you can
shortcut to documents  residing on server rather than attaching the
whole document. This reduces mailstore problems. IIRC rich text gets
converted to html if it goes via the IMS

The main reason we're going to go with HTML is that plain text does not
work with international characters (e.g, Japanese) and most web mail
systems. In particular, yahoo will not display plain text Japanese
messages, no matter what encoding is used. For Japanese and Yahoo, it's
HTML or nothing. And Yahoo.jp is a very popular server in Japan.
