Well, the problem my user was having the past few days has been resolved --
we tracked it down to an out-of-date "hosts" file on his PC pointing to an
old IP address for the server he was on.
However, he's having a new problem -- names don't resolve quickly and
Outlook hangs the system while it's trying to resolve the names in the "to"
field. I have checked his lookup settings and they are as follows:
1)Exchange Contacts 2)Personal Contacts 3)Global Catalog.
I changed it from the default of: 1) Global Catalog 2)Personal Contacts. It
doesn't seem to make any difference. I even moved him to a different mail
server.
This user is using Outlook 2000 Small Business Edition and Windows 2000 Pro.
The server is Exchange 5.5 (fully updated) and Windows 2000 Server SP4.
Is this the "wierdness" noted by others caused by upgrading to SP4? If so,
could someone point me to the fix, please?
Thanks
John
