Two other places to look for vanished email:

Antivirus. If the missing pieces are not in quarantine, you may have to
turn off or even uninstall AV to see if the phenomenon goes away. Do
you by any chance use Norton Mail Security?

Outlook Today. Messages can end up in that folder, and won't be visible
unless you turn off the home page attribute.

You say you looked in the dumpster, but did you look in every folder,
and not just Deleted Items?

Yea, i've done that as well.. I've even ran a search on the exact
message and it's not in the mailbox or Recovered Deleted Items either.

Have you tried resetting the View for their Inbox? I have seen users
unwittingly change the view and stop "receiving" new messages.

Nate,

I've ran a message trace and it says that the message was delivered. The
only thing I noticed is that the time stamp on the Exchange side is like
30 some mins different then the time stamp of the actual message sent
out. I know this because one of the users who received the message
forwarded to the user in question.

Outlook is running live mode.

Thanks,

John B.

1) If you run a message trace do you see the messag4es going to the
users mailbox?

2) do your users use Outlook in cache mode or live mode?

All,

I'm having a few weird instances of email showing on Exchange that it
was delivered but when you go to the users mailbox it doesn't show up in
the inbox. I've checked to see if this person has any rules that might
be delivering the email elsewhere, but to no avail. The Outlook clients
are not in cache mode either.

We are using an Exchange 2K3 cluster (active/passive) and the email was
destined to a local recipient.

Any ideas?

Thank you,

John B.
