Has anybody ran across any independent studies between Exchange 2007 Activesync
and Blackberry? All the reports I keep coming across are either from
Microsoft, or RIM, and are SLIGHTLY biased.

We currently do have a Blackberry server, but the Exchange Admin is NOT the
Blackberry Admin (silly, I know). So, I'm looking to either...

1. Take over Blackberry.

Or

2. Implement Exchange 2007 Activesync and push Blackberry over a cliff.

However, since I've never used either, I'm not sure what the better option is?

You can use BB without BES but there will be no synchronization of
mailbox folders like calendar, emails. You do this by using carriers
BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service) and configure your exchange to
forward all your corporate email to this BIS account. This will be a
mess and nightmare to support.

Like I mentioned before you can try before you buy with express
edition and have another user with smartphone like Aaron suggested.
Compare them and decide later.
