SharePoint is very nice for certain applications, like document management,
which has never been a good application for public folders.  There's no
one-size-fits-all replacement for public folders, I'm afraid to have to tell
you, and public folders might well remain a good choice for things like
threaded conversations.

Looks like MS is answering those pleas -- they're endeavoring to make PFs
totally and literally transparent  : ) Are there any indications that MS is
making an effort to effectively translate the existing PF base to another
platform?  The SharePoint solution leaves a lot to be desired, from what
I've heard.
