64.209.141.12 corresponds to the A record for iwhc.org. The only reason
Exchange would try the A record is if it queried first for the Mx records and
either the Mx record pointed to that host or there were no Mx records. In the
latter instance, if no Mx records exist the A record is tried (Mx records are
technically optional DNS records).

Well I ran my domain (familycareintl.org) against several rbl's and I DO have
RDNS records and didn't find anything amiss.

How/where did you determine ( for future reference) that our server "
asked for their Mx records, didn't get them so connected to the A record for
iwhc.org"

I don't see where in the logs you picked that up

thanks

Are you responsible for the iwhc.org domain? http://www.intodns.com/iwhc.org
They have some DNS problems. In the instance below it appears Exchange asked
for their Mx records, didn't get them so connected to the A record for
iwhc.org which is not configured to accept mail for the domain. There's not a
problem with Exchange and the 550 errors are not being generated by your
server. I guess you could have DNS problems as well, but there's no evidence
of that in the sample you provided.

Hi all,

I've been seeing these rejections a little more frequent than before, I have
logging turned up on the SMTP server and all it tells me is basically what
the NDR says- There is no consistency as to who the sender is or the
recipient- it just randomly happens , unfortunately the randomness is now
occurring to upper management :(.
