So it seems I have hit a new snag. I thought I was all set and ready to go with E3 and use a Time Based Hold but messages are stored within my soft delete space and once this space is full Office 365 will start to purge messages even if I have a in place hold. O365 really seems to want to make my life difficult lately lol

I don't know about the lower plans. I'd refer you to the service description (or perhaps one of the O365 MVPs can join in here). Ok so I did some quick reading and it looks like I can use Time-Based Hold and set time for 7 years. If a user was to delete an item it would remain in their mailbox but not be visible to the user. So my plan right now is to use Office 365 (Have not decided 100%) What happens when the users mailbox is over 25GB or 500MB for a site mailbox. I do not see anything that talks about additional storage. Cheers Ryan From: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Michael B. If we had to comply with a new record retention policy witch says we will keep emails for seven years the best way to comply with this requirement would be journaling?
